Shelley Jacbos

Hi, my name is Mrs. Jacobs, and I am a 6th grade Science/Social Studies teacher.  I have been teaching/working in Aurora Public Schools for 15 years.  Before coming to Edna and John W. Mosley P-8, I taught 5th grade at Montview for one year, Lyn Knoll for 3 years, and for 11 of the 15 years I was at Jewell Elementary.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, rock hunting, gardening, long road trips to experience the best of our United States and making scrapbooks to show the highlights of my trips.  The thing I am most excited about for the school year is being able to focus my teaching on subjects I love the most, so my students get to learn how to explore their world through inquiry and critical thinking!  My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day.  I do my job by challenging my students to take risks in their learning and by building relationships in and out of the classroom that will help them explore the world from many different aspects of a subject.  My community needs me to do my job, so the children of our future can be successful, and contributing members to society.
