Hi, my name is Adria Young, and I am the School Social Worker. I have been working in Aurora Public Schools for 5 years. I started working as the School Social Worker with Edna and John W. Mosley P-8 when we first opened our doors! Before coming to Mosley P-8, I worked as a co-facilitator of the Social Emotional Learning Pilot Program in an elementary school and with the Child Development Centers (preschools) in APS. I was also the school social worker at Altura Elementary School for the 2014-2015 school year. In my free time, I love to play my guitar and sing, as well as get outside and hike, workout at my boxing gym and pilates studio and spend time with my husband and family. The thing I am most excited about for this school year is to see how our school will continue to provide a loving, supportive and challenging education for our wonderful students. I'm excited to see our students continue to build academic resilience and social-emotional strength. My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day. I do my job by providing opportunities for children to build and improve their emotional intelligence so that they are successful socially and academically and to be a safe and trusting adult for children to come to when they are in need of support. My community needs me to do my job.
