Hi, my name is James Kohlbrenner, and I am the physical education teacher. While this is my first year teaching in Colorado, I am excited to return home to where I spent my childhood and had the positive experiences that led to my career choice. I now have 12 years of teaching experience at the elementary and middle school levels. Before coming to Edna and John W. Mosley P-8, I graduated from the University of Florida where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Sport Science with a specialization in physical education. My desire to learn and love of exercise led me to expand on my degree and take the necessary coursework for an adapted physical education endorsement and then seek training from the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America to become a personal trainer. During my past 12 years of teaching I continued to challenge myself receiving trainings that would benefit my lesson planning & presentation, classroom management and help with school-wide improvement. This valuable experience has prepared me for this opportunity to bring the best possible physical education program I can offer. In my free time, I enjoy coaching youth athletics and enjoying quality time with family and friends. The thing I am most excited about for the 2015-16 school year is the opportunity to serve you and with your help provide the best possible physical education experience for your child. My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day. I do my job by instilling in our students the knowledge they need to make healthy choices and have a lifelong love of fitness. My community needs me to do my job.
Mr. Kohlbrenner was unable to attend the Community Meeting on 5.6.15, however he sent a special message to all Mosley students!
