Hello, my name is Winifred “Winnie” Murray. I use she, her, and hers pronouns. I am a middle school literacy teacher, switching between 7th and 8th grades. I have been teaching in Aurora Public Schools for four years. Before coming to Edna and John W. Mosley P-8, I taught middle school literacy for five years at a charter school within the Aurora community. In my free time, I enjoy reading, exercising, and spending time with my family and friends.
The thing I am most excited about for the 2019-2020 school year is new beginnings!
My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day. I do my job by ensuring an educationally equitable environment that uses literacy to build relationships, creates a community of readers and writers, and empowers students to take control of their learning and leave my classroom having grown against grade-level standards and confident in their value and abilities. My community needs me to do my job.
