My name is Cathy Zirkelbach, aka “Nurse Cathy”. I have been working in Aurora Public Schools (APS) since November 2011 and at EJW Mosley P8 since it opened its doors in 2015. I received a Bachelors in Nursing Science (BSN) in 1986 and completed a Masters in Nursing Science (MSN) in 2010. I have been a School Health Nurse since 1996 and am nationally board certified as a school nurse (NCSN). I enjoy supporting children throughout the school day to help them achieve their highest academic success. Health office activities focus on preparing students to be knowledgeable health consumers and to make choices to be their best physically, emotionally, mentally, and ready to learn everyday. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, quilting, swimming, and anything that can be done outside. The thing I am most excited about for the upcoming school year is continuing to work with students as they become more knowledgeable about improving and maintaining their health. My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day. I do my job by focusing on activities to support the health and wellness of the staff and students at Edna and John W. Mosley P-8. My community needs me to do my job.
