My name is Cathy Zirkelbach, aka “Nurse Cathy”. I have been working in Aurora Public Schools (APS) since November 2011. I have been a registered nurse for thirty-one years and a School Health Nurse for twenty-one of those years. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, quilting, swimming, and anything that can be done outside. I have two adult children and two dogs. The thing I am most excited about for the school year is expanding my role outside of the health office and starting a JOOI (Junior Optimist International) Club at Mosley P-8. My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day. I do my job by focusing on activities to support the health and wellbeing of the staff and students at Edna and John W. Mosley P-8. Health office activities focus on preparing students to be knowledgeable health consumers and to make choices to be their best physically, emotionally, mentally, and ready to learn everyday. My community needs me to do my job.
